Martin is the Director of Instruction at Ibis Golf Academy at Ibis Golf & Country Club in West Palm Beach, FL, and host of Golf Channel’s “School of Golf” weekly instruction series. The 2008 PGA Teacher of the Year and 2003 South Florida PGA Teacher of the Year, Hall has written well over 100 instruction articles both in the U.S. and overseas, and is the author of three books, including Houdini Shots: The Ultimate Short-Game Survival Guide, which pays homage to the great Seve Ballesteros.
Hall competed against the likes of Ballesteros on the PGA European Tour before joining the teaching ranks in 1978. He has taught alongside and learned from some of the game’s greatest teachers, including Bob Toski, Jim Flick, Peter Kostis, John Jacobs, Chuck Cook, Mike Bender, and Ben Doyle. A PGA of Great Britain & Ireland Master Professional, Hall was the Lead Instructor at the Nicklaus Flick Golf Schools for eight years and spent much of that time studying Nicklaus. He was also the former Director of Golf at St. Andrews CC in Boca Raton, Fla.
No. 10 on Golf Digest’s list of America’s 50 Best Teachers, Hall is married to former LPGA Tour Rookie of the Year and two-time Solheim Cup player Lisa Hackney, winner of four Ladies European Tour events and nine events around the world. In addition to Hackney, he has taught players on the PGA, Champions, and LPGA Tours, including former U.S. Women’s Amateur and Kraft Nabisco champion Morgan Pressel, the youngest winner ever of an LPGA major.
