Corey Badger, PGA
The 2007, 2011 and 2015 Utah Section PGA Teacher of the Year, Corey joined Golf Lab as its Director of Instruction shortly after the Salt Lake City facility’s inception in 2006. A graduate of the University of Utah, where he was a member of the golf team, Corey began his teaching career as a 2nd Assistant Professional at Bonneville Golf Course in Salt Lake City, and was also a 1st Assistant Professional at Mountain Dell Golf Course. To date, he has given more than 15,000 lessons to golfers of all ages and skill levels.
For six years, Corey was a member of Golf Digest magazine’s “Best Young Teachers” list (Top 40 Under 40), and continues to be a mainstay on the publication’s “Best Teachers in Your State” rankings. His students have included Utah High School Girls and Boys state champions and All-State team members, NCAA Division I, II, and III college golfers; Utah Men’s and Women’s State Amateur Champions; and Mini-Tour and Canadian Tour touring professionals.
Corey’s philosophy is that no two swings are alike, and that every swing has its own fingerprint. He believes that the golf swing should be based on motion, and not achieving certain swing positions. His goal as a coach is to train players to understand their motion and how to aim it to the target.
