Golf Channel Academy at San Pedro, San Antonio, TX
David is the Director of Instruction for the Alamo City Golf Trail and Golf Channel Academy at San Pedro. A Life Member/Past Champion of the PGA Tour and Life Member of the PGA of America, David played on the PGA Tour from 1983 to 2000 and also competed on the Champions Tour and European, Asian, Canadian and South African tours. Ogrin’s official PGA Tour win came at the 1996 LaCantera Texas Open in San Antonio, where he defeated Jay Haas by one shot and Tiger Woods by two. In more than 500 starts on Tour, he had 32 top-10 finishes.
After his playing career was over, David set out to become a leader in player development and performance coaching. He is a graduate of the VISION54® Coaching for the Future program and holds certifications with, among others, Fluid Motion Factor, Putting Zone and Operation36. Ogrin has been teaching golf for 15 years now.
Prior to joining the Alamo City Golf Trail, Ogrin spent two years as the Director of Instruction at Topgolf San Antonio. He also spent one year as an assistant golf coach at Texas Lutheran University and was Director of Instruction at Three Crowns Golf Club in Casper, WY. Ogrin is a graduate of Texas A&M University and also has one course design to his credit, High Meadow Golf Club in Magnolia, TX, which he designed with golf course architect Tim Nugent.
