Mark is the founder of Total Golf Performance, the premier golf academy in San Antonio dedicated to growing the game of golf. He is also the Director of Instruction at Canyon Springs Golf Club in San Antonio.
A U.S. Kids Golf Certified Coach and Certified PGA Professional, Mark has been named an Honorable Mention Top 50 Kids Teacher three times by the youth equipment company, and in 2006 and 2011 was recognized as the Southern Texas PGA Western Chapter’s Junior Golf Leader. This award is given to the PGA Professional who is a leader in the promotion and development of junior golf.
Caldwell has had a big imprint on junior golf in the San Antonio area, having coached 42 U.S. Kids Golf local tour champions, three high school district champions and three San Antonio City Girls Champions. Mark got his start in coaching as a PGA Class A Assistant Professional at Oak Hills CC in San Antonio (2001-’04), and also served as the PGA Head Golf Professional and PGA General Manager/Director of Golf at Riverhill CC in Kerrville, TX, from 2004-’10. Prior to joining Canyon Springs he was a Teaching Professional at The Range at Leon Springs in Boerne.
An accomplished player, Mark played professional tournament golf for four years on the Adams Tight Lies Tour, and had a top-25 finish in the 1996 Texas State Open. His many teaching mentors include Golf Magazine Top 100 Teachers Dave Stockton and Bryan Gathright. Mark is also a member of the Positive Coaching Alliance.
